This summer, I visited Israel for three weeks, and met many wonderful musicians there, including some members of the many professional ensembles that Israel has. I would like to particularly mention the following people and thank them for their time and their encouragement: Janna Gandelman, concertmaster of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra; Roman Spitzer, principal violist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra; Avner Biron, music director of the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, and Vladimir Reider, concertmaster of the Israel Chamber Orchestra.
It was a great experience visiting the Holy Land. In addition to nice photos of various historical sites and natural wonders, I came back with something else -- a contract to play with the Israel Chamber Orchestra in September 2010, and to join them on their tour of Austria and Germany!
